To support bereaved individuals and open the conversation around suicide-related grief.

 

Bereavement in all forms can be traumatic; however, suicide often brings a range of added emotions to navigate.

The Suicide&Co team’s passion for helping others deal with this specific type of grief comes from a variety of personal experience of losing a loved one to suicide.

It all started with our co-founders, Amelia and Emma, who both lost a parent to suicide. With their entrepreneurial spirit and empathetic nature, this double act is determined to do things differently; providing the support needed whilst also opening up the conversation and addressing the stigma.

We strongly believe in the power of conversation and use a variety of initiatives to spark conversations and encourage open dialogues around bereavement from suicide and mental health more generally. We’re glad you’ve found us and whatever your situation we hope we can support you today.

Shirley
Ballas

Ambassador since 2023

Shirley Ballas is a champion ballroom dancer, world-renowned dance teacher and adjudicator, best-selling author, and the head judge of BBC1’s flagship show Strictly Come Dancing.

In addition to her role on Strictly, Shirley has been seen giving masterclasses and commentating on the American series Dancing with the Stars, is a frequent panellist on Loose Women, and was the subject of BBC1’s Who Do You Think You Are?

Whilst Shirley continues in her role as head judge on the biggest show on British television, she has also proved herself to be one of the country’s most versatile and much-loved personalities.

Samira is a singer, performer, presenter, and passionate advocate for mental health and wellness.

With a vibrant career spanning the West End, television, and music, Samira has long connected with people through storytelling and self-expression. Through her work, she brings authenticity and a genuine desire to help others feel seen and understood.

Alongside her professional journey, Samira brings personal lived experience of suicide loss to her role as a Celebrity Ambassador for Suicide&Co. Her experiences have shaped a deep commitment to raising awareness, encouraging more open conversations around grief and mental health, and helping break down the stigma that can leave so many feeling isolated.

Through kindness, openness, and connection, she hopes to help create a world where no one has to navigate grief after suicide alone.

Tayce is a multi-talented drag artist, model, and television personality, best known for her unforgettable, high-fashion run as a finalist on Series 2 of BBC3's RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.

Since capturing the hearts of the nation with her unmatched wit, stellar choreography, and striking looks, Tayce has solidified herself as one of the UK’s most exciting and versatile pop culture figures. Beyond the screen, she has modelled for premier global fashion brands, toured internationally, and built a dedicated community of fans who admire her authenticity and unapologetic self-expression.

Tayce’s commitment to our cause is deeply personal. In 2022, she experienced the devastating shock of suicide loss following the tragic passing of her close friend and Drag Race UK castmate, George Ward, known to the world as Cherry Valentine. Sharing a unique and permanent bond, this loss profoundly impacted Tayce.

Having navigated the complex layers of sudden grief herself, Tayce is determined to use her voice to encourage others to check in on one another, talk openly about mental health, and seek help whenever they are struggling.
