Instagram community and podcast

Amber Jeffrey, the founder of this Instagram community, speaks of losing her own mum and her journey with grief. This Instagram account offers heartbreaking honesty, sentiments that emotions are to be embraced and a fierce undertone of “you’ll make it, keep going”. The account is honest yet uplifting and The Grief Gang have developed a loyal following and community of those who can sadly relate to the feeling of grief and loss.

They host weekly Instagram lives every Wednesday at 3pm but the key highlight is The Grief Gang podcast which we've linked to below.

They're on a mission to normalise grief and we recommend it if you want to dip into other people’s experiences and understand that you are not alone. They provide recommendations and tips to help you through your grief and provide an honest account of the ups and downs on the grief journey. Grief Gang’s community also reaches out across Facebook.

Our Co-Founders Emma and Amelia feature on Season 2 Episode 9 of The Grief Gang Podcast where they have an open and honest conversation around how they met, how Suicide&Co came to be, their shared loss of a parent and the stigma around being bereaved by suicide. In this episode, Emma, Amelia and Amber discuss the different experiences of suicide and the ‘Hollywood’ perceptions that people have around suicide bereavement.

Harry Corin, one of our Ambassadors at Suicide&Co, also features on Season 4 Episode 1 of the Grief Gang podcast where he talks more in-depth about the loss of his father to suicide, how it impacted him and how the media portrayed his father’s death at the time. Amber and Harry have a raw discussion on the importance of language when talking about suicide and suicide bereavement. We recommend listening to this podcast if you would like to know more about the importance of language when discussing suicide bereavement. Listen to the episode here.
